Dorothea C. Cook Elzerman

ELZERMAN, Dorothea C. Cook Of Kalamazoo Dorothea passed away on July 1, 2007. She was born on January 4, 1915, the daughter of the late Theodore and Elsie Fisher Cook. On June 24, 1941, she married Sebastian Babe Elzerman who predeceased her on November 28, 1958. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, George and Edgar Cook. Dorothea was raised and spent most of her life in Detroit, Michigan. She retired as an executive secretary for the General Motors Corporation in 1980 after 25 years of service. She then moved to Kalamazoo to be closer to family to whom she was devoted. She was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church in America and a current member of Second Reformed Church in Kalamazoo. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Paul Eenigenburg, of Kalamazoo and a son, Michael Elzerman, of Brighton, MI; three grandchildren, Jill Dorothea Brian Keisling of DeWitt, MI, Joel Christian Jennifer Eenigenburg of Allen, TX; and Jon Paul Eenigenburg of Royal Oak, MI; three great grandchildren, Julia Patricia, Andrew Paul and Erik Brian Keisling. A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Second Reformed Church with Pastor Ralph Robrahn officiating. Lunch will follow in the fellowship room, with interment that afternoon in Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland, MI at 2:30. The family will receive friends at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, Oshtemo, from 7:00 to 8:30 on Friday, July 6.
