Portage Doris died Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010 at her residence.
She was born September 25, 1928 in Schoolcraft, MI a daughter of Elwin and Charlotte Rupert. On October 29, 1947, Doris married Arthur L. Romig who preceded her in death on June 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rose and Charlotte. Surviving are 3 sons, Paul Barb Romig of Three Rivers, Gerald Romig of Portage and Terry Romig and significant other Brenda of Portage; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, George Rupert; a sister, Kay Raymond Wise; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with the Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment in Schoolcraft Cemetery will follow services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
