ROBB, Doris M.
Of Portage Doris was born November 27, 1922, in Charleston Township, MI, the daughter of Cornelius and Nellie Vercies VandeLaare and passed away November 20, 2011, in Portage, MI. On February 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Wilford E. Robb in South Bend, IN. She was employed for over 25 years with the United States Postal Service, retiring as the Postmaster of the Schoolcraft Post Office. Doris enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and music, but the most important part of her life was her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald VanBrussel, Sr., by her second husband Wilford Robb and was also preceded by her sister, Marguerite Trumm and four brothers, Melvin, Donald, Nelson and Robert VandeLaare. Surviving are a son and daughter, Donald Judy VanBrussel of Paw Paw and Vivian Douglas Blakemore of Hersey, MI; six grandchildren, Stephen Amy VanBrussel, Kevin Vicki VanBrussel, Monica Al Marler, Carl Sarah Blakemore, Teresa Blakemore and Casey VanBrussel; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Wednesday, November 23rd at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a service to celebrate Doris' life will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, November 23rd with her son-in-law Douglas Blakemore officiating. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Doris' memory may be directed to Hospice Care of SW Michigan.
