Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Monday, November 24, 2008. She was born January 3, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Kenneth, Sr. and Arletta Smith Brinkert and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She had been employed by Humphrey Products for 20 years as a parts handler. Doris loved to bowl, golf, cook and follow K Wings hockey. On February 26, 1955, she married Blair Ranney and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents. Her survivors include her children, Teresa Ranney of Portage, Jake Ranney of Portage, Liz Ranney of Kalamazoo, Jennifer David Edmonds of NC, Ken Marge Brinkert of Portage, Bob Jan Brinkert of Baldwin, Brian Anna Brinkert of Kalamazoo and Ronna Brinkert of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Jana, Jason, Thomas and Cameron; one great grandchild; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Friday from 12 Noon until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
