Doris M. McDonald

McDONALD, Doris M. Of Portage Passed away Monday February 12, 2007. Doris was born May 14, 1914 in Scotts, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Allean Forester Coburn and has been a lifelong Portage resident. In her earlier years, she was employed by The Upjohn Company and for many years assisted her husband in operating McDonald?s Market. She attended the Portage Free Methodist Church and was a member of the Oshtemo Garden Club. Doris loved working in her yard and garden, but devoted her life to her family. On September 17, 1939, Doris was united in marriage to Malcolm ?Mac? McDonald who preceded her in death on September 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lyle Coburn. Surviving are two sons, Bruce Carol McDonald of Gobles and Al McDonald of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Timothy Julie McDonald, David Shannon McDonald and Carly McDonald; great-grandchildren, Alea, Colin and Savannah; a brother, Gerald Coburn and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday with Rev. Chuck Conners officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Doris? memory may be directed to the Portage Free Methodist Church.
