HANCOX, Doris Irene
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013. She was born June 17, 1924 in Kalamazoo the daughter of William F. and Myrtle Harris Crawford. Doris was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and attended Western Michigan University for a short time. She held a variety of jobs during her life including assistant manager of the State Theatre in the 40's where she met her husband to be Edward Earl Hancox, teller at First National Bank, KVP, and retired from Gibson Guitar. Her favorite job and love was her family. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Edward; a daughter, Cindy Marie Hancox; and great grandchild, Angel Norris. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Max Gabriel, Edward Tina Hancox, Pamela James Northey, Denise Hancox; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Jim Hanford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may meet the family on Sunday from 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick where services will be held at 11:00 am Monday with Rev. Dan Minor officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
