DERHAMMER, Mrs. Doris B. Schoolcraft, MI Died Tuesday morning April 17, 2007. Doris was born October 26, 1928 in Lawton, Michigan a daughter of Merle and Edna LaFever Butcher. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with the Shakespeare Company for over 30 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert O. Derhammer on March 6, 2001; a brother, Dale Butcher; and 3 sisters, Laurel Barrick, Norma Lull, and Ruby Butcher. She is survived by 2 children, Diana John Holmes of Schoolcraft and Daniel Teresa Deem of Gobles; 2 step children, Dave Joyce Derhammer of Grand Haven, and Gail Rick Schroeder of Mattawan; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Arthur Mumford of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 10 o?clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer?s Association.
