Donna Lee LaPointe left this world suddenly on March 10, 2024; just days before her 65th birthday.
Donna was born to Lucille and Richard Dintaman on March 20, 1959. She spent her younger years waitressing and running an adult foster care home. To those who knew Donna, running a foster care home demonstrated exactly what was at her core: a caregiver. This translated to all areas of her life and she was often seen participating in events with her children, such as Girl Scouts, sporting events, and taking them to the beach. She especially loved spending time with her grandson, Logan.
Donna was particularly creative and she had a love of bright colors, tie dye, smiley faces, and animals. While her creative interests seem whimsical, her many friends and family knew that she was ruthless when it came to cribbage.
Donna leaves behind and her former husband, Donald LaPointe, with who she had three children: Loren (Dustin Green) of Alexandria, Virginia; Lindsey (Brandon Fennell) of New York, New York; and Lucas and ex-wife Cassie LaPointe of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She adored her two grandsons, Jack Ernest Green, and Logan James LaPointe. Donna is also survived by four siblings: David and (EvaMarie) Dintaman of Holland, Michigan; Dan and Deborah Dintaman of Robertsdale, Alabama; Denise and Pete Melbow of Climax, Michigan; and Dale and Vicki Dintaman of Loxley, Alabama.
She will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of life is taking place on Saturday, March 16, from 1-4 pm at the Comstock VFW on 5990 E. Michigan Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
