Passed away Monday morning, November 18, 2019. Don was born February 16, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the son of Donald Sr and Dorothy (Beilby) White. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the World War II occupied/Korean War era. Don was employed with Gibson Guitar for 30 years. After his retirement he worked with the Kalamazoo and Parchment Schools as a bus driver. Don was a member of the Parchment Fire Department for 40 years and the VFW Post #1527. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, driving and his many adventures with his wife, Joyce. One of his highlights in his last years was the Talons Out Honor Flight that he took in June 2016. On March 20, 1953 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joyce (Doorenbos) who preceded him in death on November 20, 2002. Don is survived by children, Paul White, Cara (Michael) Winter; and 3 grandchildren, Rose (Steven) Roberson, Rachel (Matt) Winter, and Sean Winter. Friends may meet the family from 5-8pm Thursday, November 21 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 where funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 22. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A celebration of life will occur after the interment at the VFW Post #1527, 1920 E. Kilgore Service Road. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
