Donald E. Scott

SCOTT, Donald E. Portage Passed away March 8, 2007 at his residence. Donald was born December 4, 1913 in Upton, WY, the son of Charles and Alta Scott and had lived most of his life in the Kalamazoo area. For 50 years, Donald and his wife Melvena resided on Austin Lake where they enjoyed boating, fishing and caring for their yard and garden. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at the Meade Corporation. He was a member of the Centre Ave. Community Church of God. Donald was married to Melvena Wilson Scott on November 9, 1940. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1994. Donald was also preceded by 2 brothers, Elbert and Louis Scott. Surviving are a son Richard E. Scott of Portage; brothers and sisters, Della John Copin of Weeki Wachee, FL, Coleman Katherine Scott of Niles, MI and Alice Funnell of New Port Richey, FL; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with the Rev. Richard D. Hertsel officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Portage Chapel. Memorial contributions in Donald?s memory may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
