Kalamazoo, Michigan Went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 25, 2008. Don was born December 25, 1939 in Sturgis, the son of William and Jeannette Van Bruggen Nagel and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Don was a member of the Parchment Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an Elder and a Deacon. He was employed in the auto body repair business for 20 years, followed by 10 years with Citizens Insurance as an appraiser. Don loved spending time with his family and friends. After he retired, he enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking and watching the wildlife in his yard. Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandy; his children, Michelle Ken Langendoen, Scott Angela Nagel and Jodie John Edwards; 9 grandchildren; his twin brother, Ronald Rita Nagel of Oregon; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Following a private family committal, memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the Parchment Christian Reformed Church, 1615 East G Ave., with Pastor Kevin Heeres officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
