MEAD, Donald A.
Kalamazoo Passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012. He was born July 9, 1924 to Harold and Idale Waite Mead in Kalamazoo. He was married to Margaret L. Cook on October 11, 1947, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Thomas Mead of Bronson, MI, a daughter Marianne Harpster of Centerline, MI; grandsons, Travis and Trenton Mead of Three Rivers; daughter-in-law, Margaret M. Mead of Three Rivers. Don served in the Marines during World War II and was a printer at the Gazette for 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and square dancing and was a member of the Parchment United Methodist Church. At his request, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale St., with Pastor Mike Tupper officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Parchment United Methodist Church.
