of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday evening January 18, 2012 at his residence. Donald was born April 4, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan a son of Malcomb and Velma Virginia Bayes McBain. Years ago, he served Honorably with the U.S. Marines. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life. Don was a warm, friendly person, which made him a successful Salesman as he served many various local companies. Donald was also a member of the Kalamazoo Barber Shop Chorus. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and 2 sisters, Patricia and Barbara. On March 7, 1993, he was united in marriage to Susan Heath McBain who survives. Also surviving, 6 children, Kimberley John McBain-Maycroft of Kalamazoo, Ronald Loretta McBain of Barrington, RI, Heidi George Wisneski of Tampa, FL, Sonia Patrick Quinlan of Linden, MI, Dawn Rodney Haley of Portage, and Josh Young Converse of Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Stephanie McBain of Florence, OR; 2 sisters, Jeanne Glenn Scofield of Scotts and Katherine McBain of Oakland, CA; a brother-in-law, John Fullagher of North Platt, NB; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 o'clock Sunday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Veteran's Administration Wounded Warrior Project.
