LOGAN, Donald "Jack"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Sunday evening, February 3, 2013. Jack was born August 4, 1926 the son of Donald C. and Mary Miner Logan and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. He owned and operated Jack's Food and Beverage for 43 years and was a member of the Elks BPOE #50. He was an avid bowler and golfer and had many accomplishments in both sports. At age 70, Jack had a 300 game and a hole in one in the same year. He won many bowling tournaments which include the Riley-Stewart, and several city tournament events just to name a few. In 1950, Jack was united in marriage to his loving wife, Florence who preceded him in death in 1999. Jack is survived by his children, Karen Richard VanDerSlick, Jack Logan Jenny Argue, Kathy Logan, Jim Logan; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Petersen; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick where a memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 8. Immediately following the service friends may meet the family at the Country Acres Clubhouse on Barney Road for a light reception. Private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest North Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
