JOHNSON, Donald F. Kalamazoo Donald passed away Thursday morning, February 22, 2007 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born July 24, 1923 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the only child of Arvid and Lily McDonald Johnson. Don was employed as a purchasing manager for Clarage Fan Co. in Kalamazoo, and Rexnord Industries in North Carolina, where he retired in 1988. Don was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Portage; a former member of the Lions Club and Optimist Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and square-dancing. On July 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Helen Korhonen in Battle Creek, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Irene Korhonen of Chicago, IL and Lempi Potenza of Morton Grove, IL; and several cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents; a sister-in-law, Ailie Orel; and a brother-in-law, William Korhonen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Monday. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Spirit, WI.
