Of Kalamazoo Went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2012. Don was born October 11, 1909 in Kalamazoo, the son of George and Susie Harmon England and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. On July 8, 1931, He was united in marriage to the former Inez Albertson. Don was employed by The Upjohn Co. for 37 years until his retirement. He was a founding member of Valley View Bible Church and an over 40 year board member of Camp Michawana. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Surviving are two children, John Mical England of Marcellus and Nancy Jim Sanderson of Colorado; seven grandchildren, Sandra Fields, LeaAnne Jim Bolthouse, Mark Megan VanRavenswaay, David VanRavenswaay, Daniel VanRavenswaay, Holly Willis Bancroft, and Benjamin Sanderson; twelve great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mandi, Kristin, John, Stephanie, Ben, Jessica, Tom, Dara, Stormy, Annie, and Ellie; four great-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Annie, Nicole and Asad; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife of 70 years, Inez England; his daughter, Ila Sue VanRavenswaay; his parents; two brothers, Allen and Paul England; and two sisters, Martha Lanning and Jennifer Foster. Funeral services for Don will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Pastor B.J. Luce officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Valley View Bible Church or Camp Michawana.
