DUNLAP, Donald L.
Of Galesburg Passed way Thursday afternoon, November 22, 2007. Don was born November 12, 1923 the son of Claude and Effie Bogema Dunlap. Don was a graduate of Comstock High School where he enjoyed playing sports; and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. During his time in the service he was involved with 3 operations; the Treasury-Bougainville Operation, Bismark Archipelago Operation, and the Consolidation of the Solomon Islands. Prior to his retirement he was employed for over 25 years with Sherriff-Goslin Roofing. Don especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play various sports and had been a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals since he was a young boy. In 1991 he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Kathleen Rafferty. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Dunlap. Surviving are his children, Jeff Dunlap, Judy Tom Bultman, Gina Gary Burnett; 6 grandchildren, Kelly, Bart, Hilary, Blaine, Courtney, and Caleb; brothers and sisters, Curt Lea Dunlap, Dorothy Adams, Ken Evelyn Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:00 o?clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with Rev. Mary Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Sunday evening from 6-8pm at the Comstock chapel. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
