Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning January 28, 2012 at his residence. Donald was born April 2, 1932 in Traverse City, Michigan a son of Clinton and Evelyn Brodwolf DeWitt. Years ago, he served honorably with the U.S. Marines. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with West Michigan Painting for 30 years, retiring in 2005. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Winifred Proctor; and a brother, Larry DeWitt. On August 26, 1978, he was united in marriage to Barbara J. French DeWitt who survives. Also surviving, 5 children, Valerie Pinkham of Traverse City, MI, Don DeWitt of Kalamazoo, Pamela Glen Fox of Bangor, Audrey Sean Powers of Kalamazoo, and Vera Ken Hatfield of Scotts; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Barbara DeWitt of Illinois; a sister, Kay Jim Witt of Montague, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services and burial will be held in Ft. Custer at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.
