RITCHIE, Dolores M.
Kalamazoo Mrs. Ritchie passed away early Thursday morning, November 15, 2007 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth Wilson Zimmerman. A graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, Dolores was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. She was married to William J. Penning in 1943. He died while serving in the United States Army. Dolores was employed by National Water Lift for over 20 years until her retirement. On July 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to William Ritchie, who preceded her in death in 1969. Also preceding her in death are her parents; and one brother, Harold Zimmerman. Surviving are her four children, Bill Jr. Martha Ritchie of Delton, Pamela Voss of Florida, Mary Joe Glover of Kalamazoo, and Patricia Morales of Kalamazoo; 15 grandchildren, Matt, Bill, Sarah, Joe, Arthur, Richie, Mark, Andy, Jennifer, Amy, Sherrie, Bud, Josh, Rachel, and Mary; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Yerkovich of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Sarah. Funeral services for Mrs. Ritchie will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 17, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
