BONNEMA, Dixie J.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday morning, July 6, 2010. Dixie was born August 14, 1933 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Glenn and Geneva First. On August 21, 1950 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, William D. Bonnema, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ben First. Dixie was a member of Calvary Reformed Church where she was very active in the various women's groups. She enjoyed spending time with her children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Mark Kathy Bonnema, Tom Beth Bonnema, Jim Terri Bonnema, Lynanne Scott Peterman; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry First, Gary First, Leon First; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Dixie's life will be held Monday, July 12, at 11:00 o'clock at the Calvary Reformed Church, 7829 South 5th Street with Pastor Greg VanHeukelom officiating. Private family interment will be in Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Calvary Reformed Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
