PECKELS, Mrs. Diana R.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Saturday evening May 3, 2008 at her home on Long Lake with family and friends by her side. Diana was born May 4, 1933 in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of Raymond and Gayle Olson. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband of 48 years, Donald J. Peckels on September 25, 2005. She is survived by 3 children, Susan Mark Herson of Kalamazoo , Joe Christine Peckels of Portage , and Julie Matt Morrissey of Kalamazoo; her grandchildren Chad, Jeff, Adam, Kelsey, Nikki and Jami whom she absolutely adored; and her very dear friend Jean Fogleson along with Jean's family. Diana was a stay at home mom who loved being there for her children and the neighborhood kids when they got off the bus from school. Her passions were ALL people, music, Meijer, and their place in Baldwin where she spent 6 months a year for many, many years. Mom/Diana you will be in our hearts and our thoughts "all the time". A very special thank you to Julie C, Sharon H, Anne V, and Autumn M. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. The family will receive friends at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
