Denton "Joey" Britton, age 70, passed away December 3, 2018 at his residence. Joey was born December 10, 1947 in Kalamazoo, the son of Carl and Idella (Alberts) Britton, Jr. He was a lifelong area resident and attended the Portage Church of Christ with his parents. Joey enjoyed NASCAR racing, attending car shows, supporting all his sports teams: Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, University of Michigan, Western Michigan University and treasuring all of his sports memorabilia. He especially loved traveling, vacationing and spending special times with his family. Surviving are his mother Idella Britton; two sisters Sandi (Rick) Davis and Jan Herrington; a sister-in-law Brenda Britton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Britton, Jr.; a brother Gene Britton; a brother-in-law Gordon Herrington. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 11th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A service to celebrate Joey's life will begin at 1:00PM at the Westside Chapel. A private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park North.
