Mattawan Born on July 15, 1943, Dennis lost his battle with brain cancer on May 13, 2012, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by: his wife of 49 years, Catherine Wallace Tripp; three children, Scott Julie Ogur Tripp of Traverse City, Leisa John Mencl of Kalamazoo and Steven Valerie Vanderhoof Tripp of Lawton; seven grandchildren; mother, Betty Tripp of Estero, FL; three sisters, Jane, Elwyna and Terry; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8pm and on Saturday from 10 to 11am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where services will be held at 11:00 Saturday morning, with Rev. Nancy Zerban, officiating. Cremation and private inurnment will follow services. In lieu of flowers, Dennis's family requests that memorials be directed in his honor to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
