Delos Rolland Griffin

GRIFFIN, Delos Rolland Of Oshtemo, MI Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2009. He was born in Cheshire, Michigan, on October 14, 1920. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in Liberal, Kansas, where he met his wife, Mallie Wilburn. They were married at the end of the war, and moved to Kalamazoo where they lived together for 58 years, until her death in 2004. Delos worked at the Kalamazoo branch of the US Post Office for over 20 years, before he became the Postmaster of the Oshtemo branch of the US Post Office. He served there as Postmaster until his retirement in 1976. After a year of retirement, he decided to enter the workforce once again, and accepted a position at the Law Offices of Brown, Colman and DeMent now Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone, where he worked for over 20 years. Delos was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife Mallie, and his adopted sister Genevieve Keller. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Randall Hoskinson of Dayton, Ohio, and his son, Alan Lana Griffin of Portage, three grandchildren, David Hoskinson, Adam Allison Hoskinson, Sarah Nathan Ingram, two great-grandchildren, and two foster sisters, Dorothy Miller of Plainwell and Barbara Thorn of Grand Junction. Funeral services for Delos will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Interment will be in Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire, MI.
