Edgerton, Debra Kay
of Richland, Michigan Passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the age of 57. She was born in Kalamazoo on September 11, 1955, the daughter of Arthur LeRoy and Dorothy Smith Schallhorn. She worked as a cashier for Meijer for 36 years. She was a talented artist and especially enjoyed making pencil drawings. Debra enjoyed going to Goodwill, flea markets and thrift stores and collected old things, especially Coco-Cola memorabilia. She also enjoyed decorating her home. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jim Edgerton of Richland; her children, Jared Edgerton of Richland, Joshua Sarah Bower of Delton, Jeremy Bower of Delton; her mother, Dorothy Schallhorn of Delton and her father, Arthur Pat LeRoy of Richland; Jim's children, Sharon, Jim, Carolyn, Linda, John Vicki and Jason; several grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda Al Ramirez of Yuma, AZ and Kathy Ruley of Delton; three step-brothers and three step-sisters; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Judith, Joy, John and Alan Sherry; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Jennifer; and her step-father, Bill Schallhorn. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where a memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Scott Burdick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jim Edgerton to establish an education fund for their son, Jared.
