Deborah Jean Henschel, age 62, died unexpectedly Monday, March 16, 2020. She was born March 2, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH a daughter of Warren and Helen (Smith) Seaver. Debrah was an advocate for animal rights. It was her quest to end animal abuse and to pursue stiffer penalties for those accused and convicted of animal abuse or negligence. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Chuck Seaver. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Terry Henschel of Richland; sisters, Lynn Vogual and Caren Dedrick and brothers-in-law, Larry and Gary Henschel. Graveside services will be held 1:30 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Fort Custer National Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Those wishing to attend should be in the cemetery assembly area by 1:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
