Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away April 30, 2009 in Texarkana, TX. Dean was born February 18, 1931 in Kalamazoo the son Nicholas and Margaret Garringer Grannan. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On February 16, 1957 he was united in marriage to the former Harriet Perkins who survives. Prior to his retirement Dean was the Maintenance Supervisor at the YWCA. Surviving besides his wife Harriet are 3 children, Denise Huzjak, Darlene Redmond, Mark Grannan; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane Grannan; and several nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, Nickolas Huzjak, Timothy Redmond; and 2 brothers, Dale and Don. Services will be held 11:00 o'clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with Rev. Mona Joslyn officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Comstock Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Library for the Blind. www.langelands.com
