Died Saturday morning November 24, 2018. David was born March 15, 1941 in Fulton, Tennessee, a son of Ernest and Annie (Breachears) Tidwell. Years ago, He served honorably with the U.S. Navy. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his adult life and was employed with Doubleday Brothers for over 30 years, before retiring. David was also a longtime member of Renovation Church in Portage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lavonne E. Tidwell on January 10, 2016; 2 brothers an infant and Ernest; and 5 sisters, Martha Whitehead, Laverne Boren, Thelma Daniel, Juanita Rose and Betty Kerley-Holzgen. He is survived by a sister Mary Davidson of Fulton, TN; 3 sister-in-laws, Nancy (Bob) Walker, Kathy (John) Hippensteel, and Louise (Bill) Krumrei; brothers-in-law, Ernest (Janice) Glessner,Bill Whitehead and Verle Holzgen; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at Renovation Church, 1715 West Centre Ave. Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Graveside services will be held 2 o'clock Thursday in Austin Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorials may be directed to the Renovation Church.
