RUSSELL, David M.
Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007. He was born April 21, 1929 in Detroit, to Robert H. and Myrtle Kargela Russell and had lived in Texas Twp. since 1973. A graduate of U of M Engineering School, David worked for MDOT for 39 years until retiring in 1992. He enjoyed gleaning as a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes, had been active in Boy Scouts, taking his troop and his family camping and teaching outdoor skills. Following his retirement, he and his wife became very active in bird watching, which took them to all 50 states and abroad, building a life list of over 1200 birds worldwide. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia O'Brien; their children, Irene Russell of St. Peters, MO, Mathew Chris Russell of Kalamazoo, Mark Kathy Russell of Augusta, Bruce YvetteRussell of Denver, CO and Margaret Russell of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Andrea, David, Spencer, Cody and Madison; a great granddaughter, Amara; a brother, Robert Nancy Russell of Dimondale, MI. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Schoolcraft Presbyterian Church, 224 E. Cass, with Rev. Evelyn Diephouse officiating.
