HAFER, Mr. David J.
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away early Friday morning, December 10, 2010 at home after courageously battling a lung illness. He was born August 9, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Robert and Evelyn Gilman Hafer. Mr. Hafer was a beloved and devoted father to his daughter Stephanie J. Hafer Kingsley and husband, William P. Kingsley. Mr. Hafer leaves behind many dear friends and family. Close to him were Fredrick and Whitney Handelsman Hoag and Donna Doner. Preceding him in death were his dear mother, father, brothers Jack and Stanley and sister Marilyn. Surviving are four sisters; Gloria Lane, Millicent Teugh, Virginia Davis, and Connie Bennet; and two brothers Bill Hafer and John Hafer. Mr. Hafer will be known for many wonderful things, but mostly for his gentle and kind spirit. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private gathering in his honor will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his daughter asks that donations be made in Mr. Hafer's name to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
