FITZPATRICK, David A.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Borgess Hospital. He was born February 26, 1932 in Kalamazoo, to the late Joseph and Suzanne Bestervelt Fitzpatrick. David was united in marriage on April 19, 1985 to Betty Jorgensen Foote, who survives. David served in the U.S. Air Force from January of 1951 until honorably discharged in September of 1954. England, Libya and Germany were among the duty stations at which he served. Among David's passions were, military history, Michigan football and the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed his family trips all over Michigan, the Great Lakes and Canada. Also surviving David are his children, D. John Susan Fitzpatrick of Ann Arbor and Scott Lisa Fitzpatrick of Mattawan; step-children, Judith Randy Jury of Kalamazoo, Linda Brown of Plainwell and Beverly Jeff Weingartz of Chelsea; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Thomas Leone Fitzpatrick; and 2 nephews and their families. Family will greet friends on Monday from 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in David's name to the American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.
