Passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. David, surrounded by his family, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 50. David was born in Kalamazoo on May 7, 1965, the son of David Joe and Carol Lynn (Harvey) Beeke. He graduated from Mattawan High School and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Central Michigan University. He was employed as a Customer Service Coordinator for Eaton Corporation in Galesburg. David is survived by his loving wife, Carmaria (VanVolkinburg) Beeke; children, David Robert (DD) and Shelby Carolynn; father, David; sister, Missee (Matt) Erbele; niece, Kelsee Boecher; nephew, Caleb Boecher; and father-in-law, Robert VanVolkinburg. He leaves behind numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Beeke; mother-in-law, Karen VanVolkinburg; and a nephew, Lavon Walston. David's greatest joys in life were spending time with Carmaria and their children. He loved coaching DD and Shelby in soccer and baseball, watching them bowl on Saturday mornings, and perform in their school bands. David was an automotive enthusiast and enjoyed restoring and modifying high performance Fords, with special attention dedicated to Mustangs and Capris. His family and friends in the community will miss his passion, knowledge, and generosity. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 4th at the Westside Chapel with Pastor Greg Carlson officiating. Cremation will follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lodge-American Cancer Society.
