WILCOX, Darleen Marie Kuiper
Of Kalamazoo Went home to Heaven on Saturday September 12, 2009. With the patience and love of her husband and family she was able to take her last breath at home. She was born August 12, 1930 in Lowell, MI. She married her high school sweetheart Hazen Wilcox, and embraced 60 years of a sweet and beautiful marriage raising 5 children in a warm and caring home. Darleen will be lovingly missed by her husband Hazen; children, Lee Donna Wilcox of Richland, Rex Barb Wilcox of Lowell, Kim Jackie Wilcox of Vicksburg, Amy Wilcox Joe Woodruff, Jay Karen Wilcox all of Mattawan; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild; 2 brothers, Jim Kathy Kuiper of Texas, Don Kuiper of Ada; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes R. VanTuinen and Willard Kuiper; and a grandson, Sean Wilcox. Anyone lucky enough to know Darleen will remember what a kind, generous and wonderful person she was. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. If you ever had the opportunity to taste her cooking you know that was terrific too. She enjoyed homemaking; caring for her roses, pets, and wild birds. She was a longstanding and active member of the Lighthouse Community Church. A service to celebrate Darleen's life will be held 1:00 o'clock Tuesday at the Lighthouse Community Church, 4321 South 11th Street, with Pastor Bruce Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Monday today from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Memorials may be directed to the Lighthouse Community Church, or Southern Care Hospice.
