WHITCOMB, Danny H.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Danny was raised up on Eagles Wings on August 19, 2009 at his home with family present. He was born on August 18, 1941, the son of Arthur and June Whitcomb. He was a very loyal U.S. Army veteran having served until his retirement for 31 years in the 101st Airborne and Special Forces. Danny was a member of the American Legion Post # 6 in Holland, MI. He enjoyed volunteering at the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center for 4 years and also volunteered at Gull Lake United Methodist Church taking attendance where he was a member. Danny was a Packaging Engineer for Owens Illinois of Toledo for 16 years and at Green Bay Packaging of Kalamazoo for 20 years. Danny was married to Judy for 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jeanette Stewart. Surviving are his wife Judy; 2 sons, Marc Whitcomb of Eureka, MO and Bruce Whitcomb of Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Daniel and Brittany. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Gull Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor David Nellist officiating. Interment will follow at 1 pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the Ft. Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Army. Friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Memorial contributions in Danny's memory may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or the Cheff Center.
