Daniel W. Reiff passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the age of 24. He was born on March 16, 1999, with a naturally sweet and kind soul. He had a heart of gold, and a big smile for everyone he met and was always a joy to be around. Dan had a strong faith in God. He believed in helping and supporting others. Everyone who knew Dan admired his work ethic, compassion, and contagious sense of humor.
Dan had a love for the outdoors, horseback riding, rodeo, skiing, working on and cleaning his Ford truck, shooting, hunting, riding bikes, side by side’s and four wheelers. He loved spending time with his wife, friends, and family. They all meant the world to him. Providing for others and making people feel valued, was something Dan felt passionately about. He enjoyed learning new things and teaching others.
At the age of 12, Dan began working with his father and learning the skills needed to work in the trades. At the age of 22, Dan became a Journeyman, the youngest to achieve this in Local 357 history. He was currently employed with R.W. LaPine Mechanical Contractors. Dan had recently married his high school sweetheart, McKenna Cox on August 14, 2023, at Glacier National Park in Montana.
Dan will always be remembered with such love by his wife, McKenna (Cox) Reiff; his parents, Dave (Lorri) Reiff; brother, Dylan Reiff; father and mother-in-law, Tom (Jodi) Cox; sisters in law, Lauren, and Claire Cox. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gertrude Weber. To acknowledge all of Dan’s mentors and dear friends would be an impossible task, as he leaves so many more special people behind to cherish his memory.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, October 14th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A Memorial Service for Dan will be held Sunday, October 15th at the funeral home at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Considering the large number of people who will be wanting to attend, the funeral home will also be livestreaming the service on Sunday. The link will be available on our website. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe to assist McKenna through this very difficult time.
