Crandall, Daniel "Dan" Dean
of Augusta, Michigan Passed away on June 18, 2013 at the age of 63. He was born in Battle Creek on October 17, 1949, the son of Lillie Mae Crandall Holton and the late Darold D. Crandall. He married Suzanne Moyer Crandall on March 30, 1968; she survives him. He is also survived by his daughter and her husband, Shelly S. Crandall and Michael "Shane" Pierce of Galesburg, He has two step-grandchildren, Riley and Connor Pierce; his brother, David and Connie Crandall of Comstock; brothers-in-law, John and Sue Moyer, Ivan Moyer and Shirley Summitt; sister-in-law, Kathy and Dewey Troyer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry A. Crandall. He served with the United States Navy as a Navy Seal in the Vietnam War. He was employed by Consumers Energy for many years and for the past 15 years served as an Ordinance Officer for Comstock Township. He was Director of Consumers Credit Union for 30 years. He was a Karate Instructor, loved to be outdoors, enjoyed golfing and playing poker. Dan loved socializing and making many friends over the years, who will miss him dearly. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Chaplain Barb VanEck will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kairos Dwelling, Reverence Hospice or V.F.W. Post 7956.
