OF Kalamazoo, Michigan Died December 5, 2008 at his residence. Dale was born October 2, 1963 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Dale and Helena VanNus Bennett and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. He attended Kalamazoo Central High School and finished his education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981-84. Dale was employed for 16 years at Pfizer as an Associate Chemist. He attended Oakwood Bible Church. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Candace in 1998 and by a sister Linda Bennett. Surviving are his fiancé and dear friend Laila Sokhanvari; 3 sisters, Marilyn Michael Rauch of Hoover, AL, Catherine James Brown of Enterprise, AL and Rosalie Kevin Deichsel of Aurora, CO; 5 nephews and 1 niece. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Oakwood Bible Church, 4100 Oakland Dr. with Pastor Bill Kiewiet officiating. Friends may meet the family beginning at 10:00 am on Thursday at the church. Private family inurnment will be in South Portage Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dale's memory be made to the Michigan Federation for Children and Families, 320 N. Washington Square, Suite 100, Lansing, MI 48933. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
