Dale A. Hinckley, Sr

HINCKLEY, Dale A., Sr. Portage Mr. Hinckley passed away Wednesday morning, June 6, 2007 at his home. He was born November 5, 1923, in Kalamazoo, one of three sons to Clyde and Oma Benjamin Hinckley. Dale owned and operated Hinckley Floor Covering for over 45 years until his retirement in the mid 1980?s. He was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and a long time member of the Harmonichords. On October 17, 1942, he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Wilson in Kalamazoo, who preceded him in death on May 8, 2005. Also preceding him in death are two sons, Dale Jr., and Max Hinckley; and two brothers, Edwin and Clyde Hinckley. Surviving are two children, Becky Burnham of Delton and Howard Barbara Hinckley; one grandson, Kyle Burnham of Delton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Hinckley will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1747 W. Milham Road, with Pastor Paul Nuechterlein officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
