Dale Hooper Griffith, “Mr. Frosty”, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the age of 89. Dale was born in Kalamazoo on December 15, 1934, to the late Frank and Pauline (Hooper) Griffith. In 1959, Dale married Darlene Saddler. The two shared 65 beautiful years of marriage together.
Dale was always a big part of his community, especially in the ice cream and classic car communities. He owned and ran Frosty Boy alongside his family for 16 years and always enjoyed travelling to car shows. He was also a devoted member of Westwood United Methodist Church.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife; his children, Denise (Dave) Garrison and Duane (Tammy) Griffith; granddaughter, Samantha (John) Bergeon; six great-grandchildren; and two step-grandsons.
Preceding Dale in death were his parents, Frank and Pauline, and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Griffith.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49006. Dale’s family will be welcoming guests for visitation on Thursday, June 20, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, June 21, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, June 21. Dale will be laid to rest during a private burial at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park - South.
