Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday evening October 7, 2010. Dale was born November 1, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Elvon and Mary Groen Cushman. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the City of Kalamazoo for 11 years, retiring in 1996. He was also a volunteer with the Eastwood Fire Department; Big Brother and Big Sisters; and the Boy Scouts of America. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce E. Cushman on October 3, 2007; a daughter, Sharon Feathers in 1973; and a sister, Donna Casselman. He is survived by a son, Terry Cushman of Plainwell; a daughter, Leslie Smith Mike McCormack of Plainwell; 3 grandchildren, Sharon, Shane, and Kennedee; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday at the Little Church in the Pasture, 7880 Milo Rd., Delton. Friends may meet the family 4-7pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private burial will take place in Grand Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
