BLAKE, Dale William
Battle Creek, MI Passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009. Dale was born September 17, 1945 in Kalamazoo, a son of John Michael and Helen Alma Snyder Blake and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years before moving to Battle Creek. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1963 and had served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. Dale was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #88, where he was an Honorary Past Governor, served on the Ritual Team, the Memorial Team and was a recipient of the Fellowship Degree. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John. He is survived by his sons, Michael E. Blake of Decatur, AL and Charles P. Shannon Blake of Onondaga, MI; 2 granddaughters, Kelsey Anne Blake and Haley Catherine Blake; two sisters, Sharon Cook and Cynthia Stenquist, both of Auburn Hills, MI; a brother, Phillip Sharon Blake of Chapel Hill, TN; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Mooseheart, Loyal Order of the Moose, Moose International, Mooseheart, IL 60539-1182.
