OPT HOFF, Cornelius "Neil"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Cornelius "Neil" Opt Hoff, age 93, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012. Neil was born August 16, 1919 in Kalamazoo, the son of Herbert and Martha Sagers Opt Hoff. During WW II from 1941-45 he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was a self employed contractor who operated Neil J. Opt Hoff Builders for many years. Neil was a longtime member of Grace Christian Reformed Church. On April 2, 1949, Neil was united in marriage to Betty Potts Opt Hoff, who preceded him in death on February 25, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Robert and a brother-in-law, Jacob Potts. Surviving are his children, Jayna Bert Van Dellen of Scotts, Beth Garry Demski of Jenison, Robyn Mike Lilek of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Keren Holdridge, Melissa Abraham Telling, Timothy Van Dellen, Thomas Caroline Van Dellen, Michelle and Catherine Lilek; great grandchildren, Daniel, Nicolas, Jason and Benjamin Holdridge, William & Tori Finley, Anthony Kelley, Jedidiah, Cornelius, Katherine, Reuben, Ethan, Emma, Megan, Corban and Teresa Telling, Asher and Siler Van Dellen, Katelee, Thomas, Casey and Elsie Van Dellen; three great-great-granddaughters; a sister-in-law, Eileen Potts; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 7th at 12:30 PM in the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Road with Rev. Greg Timmer officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., on Tuesday, November 6th from 4-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Christian Reformed Church, the Kalamazoo Christian School Association, or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
