Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born August 29, 1944 in Kalamazoo, a daughter of Marinus and Maatje Stryd Meeuwse and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She was employed by the Upjohn Company for over 30 years and served on the Kalamazoo County Road Commission for 7 years. Lara was a member of Third Reformed Church, enjoyed counted cross stitching, reading, bike riding and walking. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gerard and Jacob Meeuwse. Her survivors include a brother, Anthony M. Lena Meeuwse of Portage; two sisters, Nellie Meeuwse and Mary Janet Anthony Bolle all of the Netherlands; a sister-in-law, Antoniette Meeuwse of Portage; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. As a lasting expression of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Plymouth Christian School of Grand Rapids.
