Cornelia H. Van Dyk

VAN DYK, Cornelia H.
of Kalamazoo, MI Went home to be with her Lord on October 1, 2009. Cornelia was born February 5, 1926 in Kalamazoo, to the late Johan W. and Hendrika Duisterhof Hessel. Cornelia was united in marriage on January 20, 1949, to Willem J. Van Dyk, who preceded her in death in 2004. Cornelia attended the Agape Christian Fellowship Church for many years. She also served as a Red Cross volunteer for 20 years as well as being a 'volunteer flower lady' at Bronson Hospital for a time. Also surviving Cornelia are her children, Willem "Andries" Janet Van Dyk of Otsego, Roland Van Dyk of Vermont and Karen James Thompson of Richland; grandchildren, Codi and Tyler; sister, Margaret Kloprogge; cousin, Gordon Merlyn Duisterhof; several other cousins, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Tinie Hessel Also preceding Cornelia in death were, brothers, William and John Hessel, and; brother-in-law, Harry Kloprogge. No visitation is scheduled. Private services will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Empty Tomb Ministries, 1114 St. Croix Pl., Ft. Collins, CO 80525 or Hospice of SW Michigan.
