Of Portage, MI Connie passed away Tuesday evening, October 27, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center, following a long struggle with Alpha-1 a lung disease. She was born October 5, 1954 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Fay and Phyllis Dean. Connie was employed at Hydro Aluminum for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and her dogs, loved to travel and was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings. Surviving are her daughter, Danielle Koscik of Portage; mother, Phyllis Esman of Kalamazoo; sister, Arlene Douglass of Shelbyville; twin brother, Ron Douglass of Kalamazoo; nieces, Cheryl Kevin Hunter and Ann Edwards; nephew, Troy Stacy Cannon; and boyfriend, Rick Swander. Funeral services for Connie will be at 2:00 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, with Pastor Suzanne Kornowski officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
