Lawrence, MI Died Wednesday morning, May 2, 2012. Colleen was born February 15, 1952 in Ticonderoga, New York, a daughter of Ralph and Leona Williams Potter. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 10 years and was a self-employed yoga instructor, specialist in Thai Yoga bodywork, and physical therapist assistant. She held a graduate certificate in Holistic Health Care from Western Michigan University. Colleen was a member of the National Association of Professional Women, Kripalu Yoga Teacher's Association, the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and founder/owner of 1000 Cranes Yoga. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert E. Burton. Colleen is survived by a son, Richard Nathalie LaBarr of Montclair, NJ; 2 sisters, Joan Lester Daby of Port Henry, NY and Cheryl Dr. John Adams of Indian Trail, NC; a brother, Norman Crawford of Keeseville, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, May 10, at the People's Church in Kalamazoo at 6pm. Memorials may be directed to the Yoga Research Educational Center, the People's Church, and Paws with a Cause.
