SCOTT, Clyde D.
of Portage Died July 11, 2011 at Bronson Hospital. He was born November 19, 1927 in Boyne City, MI to the late Elmer and Mary Dodd Scott. Clyde was united in marriage to Lois E. Price on August 11, 1956 for nearly 55 years together. Lois survives. Clyde?s greatest joy in life was caring for his wife and spending time with his family. He was an active member of the Portage Free Methodist Church for 44 years. His military career included serving in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. After a 34 year career at General Motors, he took a second career with Quest Diagnostics, where he thoroughly enjoyed his job and his co-workers, for 22 years. He retired at the age of 82. Also surviving Clyde are his children, Ron Tammy Scott of Zeeland, MI, and their children, Tyler, Joshua and Lyndsay, Karen Jeff Smith of Midlothian, TX and their daughter, Madison, Kevin Robyn Scott of Kalamazoo and Suzanne Ted Kiesling of Portage and their children, Alexa, Tabitha, Isabella, Lauren, Hannah and Ryan; sister, Betty Leroy Nicloy; brother, Michael Sally Scott; sister-in-law, Vernetta Scott; brother-in-law, Otis Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Clyde in death were brothers and sisters, Lyle Scott, Ralph Gertrude Scott, Carmalita Kurt Nicloy, Ken Scott, L.G. Scott, Claude Scott, Juanete Smith, Lornete Loyd Westendale, Doug Joanie Scott and infant sister, Ruth Scott. A memorial service will take place Friday, 11:00 at Portage Free Methodist Church, 1715 West Centre Ave. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave. A private committal service will take place at Ft.
