NORRIS, Clyde N.
Kalamazoo, MI Clyde Norman Norris, age 79, died Monday morning, July 30, 2012, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. He was born June 5, 1933, in Hornersville, MO, a son of James E. and Maggie I. Edwards Norris. Clyde retired from James River after 41 years of service in the paper industry. Clyde was an avid freshwater fisherman and went fishing as often as he could get away. He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Linda J. Evans; his parents; and three sisters, Mattie Ivens, Millie "June" Goughnour and Hazel Smith. On July 27, 1956, Clyde was united in marriage with the former Helen Hubbard, who survives. Also surviving are: three children, David Mary Norris of Portage, Sandra M. Carroll of Davao City, The Philippines and Mark Ginger Norris of Parchment; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer John Tovar, Sarah Jeremy Harms, Michelle and Kristen Norris, Michael and Samantha Evans, and Megan, Lindsay and Stephanie Norris; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Harms and Ronan Tovar; a brother, Ernest Norris; a brother-in-law, Elmer Ivens; a sister-in-law, Betty Melin; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick Street. Services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning at the funeral home with Pastor Francis Grabowski, officiating. Interment in East Cooper Cemetery will follow services. Memorials may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
