"Lucky" or "Ray"
of Portage, MI Went home to be with his Lord on Thursday February 26, 2009. Clinton was born February 21, 1922 in Bluffton, Indiana, the son of the late Clinton and Ethel Beason Knight, Sr. and has been a Portage area resident most of his life. During WW II, he served in the U.S. Army. For over 37 years he was employed with Consumers Power and retired as forestry supervisor of SW Michigan. He was a member of the Lake Center Bible Church, and enjoyed spending time with his church friends. For 13 years he delivered for Meals on Wheels. Clinton enjoyed golfing, wintering in Florida, but most of all dearly loved all of his family. On December 20, 1941 he was united in marriage to the former Marion Starrett who preceded him in death on October 3, 2006. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Robert, Blaine and Phyneal. Surviving are his daughter and son, Diane Donald Russon of Portage and Michael Marsha Knight of Traverse City; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Marlene George Andoe and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue where a service to celebrate Clinton's life will be held Monday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Greg Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials in Clinton's memory may be directed to the Lake Center Bible Church.
