Formerly of Kalamazoo Died Sunday evening March 16, 2008. Cleo was born August 6, 1912 in Hartford, Michigan a daughter of Charles and Nettie Rice Lanphear. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a member of Westwood Church of God for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl A. Hughes on June 21, 1993; an adopted sister, Gladys Briggs; and her step mother, Edith Lanphear. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Willrich of Marshall, MI; 2 grandchildren, Bryan Burrma of Kalamazoo and Adele Lee Covington of Marshall; 5 great-grandchildren, Laura Bailey, Meria Abbott, and Elena, Eric, and David Burrma; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Makayla and Joshua Bailey. Services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday. Private interment will be in Prospect Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Marshall Wesleyan Church.
